A huge “Thank You!” goes out to all you participated in and attended our annual RHPCS Holiday Concert last Thursday, December 6. Our really students rocked the house with fun musical numbers to ring in the holiday season. I’ve shared an album of picture from the Holiday Concert and “backstage” action on our school Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/rollinghillscharter/ We appreciate Mr. Lopez, Ms. Harmon, and Mrs. Patten for sharing their talent and enthusiasm for music, Orchestra, Choir, and American Sign Language and helping our students prepare an excellent program for this event.
Thanks to the partnership and efforts of our RHPCS Parent Faculty Association and Partners of Our Community we were able to add a fundraising pre-concert dinner opportunity to our event this year. Participation in the dinner and generous donations during the concert raised $1900 to grow our RHPCS music program. Thank you all for supporting enhancement programs that benefit our Rolling Hills students!
Let’s also give a big shout out and “Whoot! Whoot!” to our friends at Parkview Christian Church for sharing their beautiful church facility with us for this event. A big high 5 goes out to their sound and safety crew that were on site to help us too
In awesome coincidental timing, Mr. Lopez and the new and growing Orff instrument component of Rolling Hills’ music program will be featured in a story piece by Doug Petcash of KTVB Channel 7. This story is scheduled to air this coming Monday, December 17 on KTVB around 5:45 and 6:45 on Channel 7. Then again around 7:45 on 24/7.
It will also air in the New at 4pm that same day, plus on the Saturday Morning news on 12/22. It will also be posted on KTVB.com once it has been aired. We’ll share the link on our school Facebook page once it is available.
(Orff instruments, what are those?: Orff instruments include xylophones, glockenspiels, marimbas and metallophones. These instruments contain removable bars that resonate to project a sound when they are hit with mallets.)
