RHPCS School Board Election Vote Now through October 20, 2016 The time for the RHPCS School Board elections is upon us. Four (4) positions are available during this election: One (1) Parent seat, one (1) Community Member seat and two (2) either Parent or Community Member seats. Board positions are elected for a two-year term. We have 3 candidates for this election: Mark Pomerans, Jon Worbets, and Scot Carley (incumbent). Visit the RHPCS School Board website at: http://rhcschoolboard.weebly.com/ to view each candidate’s application. Prior to the Annual Meeting and ballot count, we will host a “Meet & Greet the Candidates” time on Thursday, October 20 at 5:00 p.m. Feel free to come meet the candidates in person and ask candidates any questions. The official Ballot is now available on the school board webpage, is attached with this email, and hard copies are available and can be completed and submitted at the school office. Who can vote? Only stakeholders are allowed to vote. You are a stakeholder if you are a parent or legal guardian of a RHPCS student, a RHPCS staff member or RHPCS teacher. Only one vote per stakeholder. How do I vote? Ballots may be printed from this email or from the school board website. Vote by completing your ballot at the school or complete the ballot at your convenience and drop it off or mail to the school address: 8900 Horseshoe Bend Road, Boise, ID 83714. Ballots should be in an envelope marked “election” and be received by 5:30 p.m. on October 20, 2016 in order to be valid. Counting Ballots: The ballots will be counted at the RHPCS Annual Meeting on Thursday, October 20, 2016 beginning at 5:30 p.m. Ballots will be counted by the Clerk of the Board and the School Administrator. All are welcome and encouraged to attend. Announce New Board Members: The new Board members will be announced at the Annual Meeting on October 20, 2016. New Board members will be posted on the website. Stakeholders will be notified by email. A notice will also be posted at the school. Swear in new Board Members: New Board members are required to submit for a background check. The new Board members will be sworn in at the Board meeting after the results of the background checks are received by the school. |

The RHPCS Parent Faculty Association (PFA) will be holding a meeting this Wednesday, September 14 at 6pm in room #6 (Ms Pfaff's 6th grade homeroom). All parents are welcome and encouraged to attend. The PFA would love to hear your insight on fundraising activities and goals.

Feel free to contact the school office with any questions. ![]() 2016 Rolling Hills 5th Grade Cross Country Club All RHPCS 5thGrade Boys & Girls are invited to join our new 5th Grade XC Club team! Practices will begin Tuesday, September 6 after school from 2:45 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Mr. Phil Schoensee is the Middle School XC coach and will also coach the 5th Grade XC Club with the help of parent volunteer coaches. Mr. Schoensee brings an extensive amount of experience both as a runner and as a coach at the collegiate, high school, and middle school levels. Coach Schoensee is passionate about helping all student-athletes reach their goals in the sport while having miles of fun along the way. Cross Country participants should expect to run 2 to 3 miles, bring a water bottle and wear running shoes, comfortable athletic shorts & top to run in. For meet days, team members will need black running shorts and a white t-shirt to be worn under his/her RHPCS provided team jersey. Weekly practice schedule (meet on the playground area behind the school building): Team practices will be Monday through Friday, except on meet days. XC MEETS: The 5th Grade XC Club will have a full schedule of XC races available to participate in. Parents will be responsible for transporting their child to/from meet locations. Plan to arrive 30-45 minutes before meet start time for team warm up. FRI/September 16th - Elementary XC Meet hosted by and at Capital High School WED/September 21st - YMCA XC 2K @ Hobble Creek Park 5:30 p.m. WED/September 28th - YMCA XC 2K @ Camel’s Back Park 5:30 p.m. WED/October 5th - YMCA XC 2K @ Hobble Creek Park 5:30 p.m. WED/October 19th - YMCA XC 2K @ Hobble Creek Park 5:30 p.m. WED/October 26th - YMCA XC Championship Meet @ Camel’s Back Park 5:30 p.m. To join the 5th Grade XC Club team, parent/guardian will need to complete and sign the attached Athletic Participation Form. There is a $50 team participation fee. Scholarship may be available.
