Dear Rolling Hills Families,

This week the 4th grade hosted a celebration of Idaho! We held an open house for classes to check out our research projects and learn fun facts about our great state.

We also hosted an all school assembly and invited Jodi Peterson, from Boise's Interfaith Sanctuary, to speak. The work of the Interfaith Sanctuary aligns with the character traits that we teach our students: to be kind, caring , respectful and responsible. The Interfaith Sanctuary provides a safe overnight emergency shelter  to up to 164 men, women and families with children. Their Support Services Team helps guests identify and set goals that will lead to a successful transition out of homelessness.

For our service project,  4th Grade is collecting  4 items for the Interfaith Sanctuary : NEW socks and underwear, hangers, and large (50-60 lb.) trash bags. Collection boxes are in each of the classrooms. We will be collecting items until Friday, March 17th.

Thank you for your support!

The PFA has so much fun at Rembrants at our February meeting that we decided to hold it there again this month. Our next PFA meeting is March 15, 2017 (Wednesday) at 7:30. We are bringing up some large ticket items for approval so if you would like to have a say in how the fundraising efforts are used, please come. All parents and teachers are welcome. Please RSVP here - https://www.facebook.com/events/600281390168586/  We have a lot of exciting things going on at the PFA .I hope to see you there.

PFA Updates
  • Our Facebook Group has grown to 20 members. Would love to see more of you there. It is a closed group so click here to join - https://www.facebook.com/events/600281390168586/
  • We earned $134 at the Smoky Mountain Dine Out. Thank you for everyone who attended. It was great seeing so many familiar faces and getting a chance to chat other parents
  • On Friday, we gave each classroom a $150 gift card for Amazon to spend at their discretion along with a ‘thank you’ note and form to request money. Our teachers give so much to our school and kids, we wanted to let them know the PFA is here to support them. The gift was greatly appreciated and going to things like art supplies, science projects and field trip costs. Hopefully, we will see more requests from our teachers as a result of this initiative.
  • We have an exciting proposal from Mr Lopez on new instruments for the music room. This proposal is up for approval at next Wednesdays meeting. If you are passionate about music be sure to come to the meeting to have your voice heard
  • SAVE YOUR BOX TOPS. We earned over $300 on our last Box Top contest so we are doing it again. Start saving your Box Tops and look for the next contest information soon!

Have a great week!
