August 2010 has been a year of firsts for Mrs. Kelsey Sevier. She began her first year of teaching and her first year at Rolling Hills.

Mrs. Sevier is a graduate from Northwest Nazarene University with a degree in Elementary Education. Two years ago, she moved to Idaho and she lives in Nampa with her husband Logan, but her extended family lives in Spokane , WA .

To Mrs. Sevier, her most satisfying moment as a teacher is seeing the look of accomplishment on a student’s face when he or she finally masters a task or concept. Toward that end, Mrs. Sevier wants every student to feel safe in her classroom and she wants to instill a love of learning in each student.

When, she’s not teaching the three basic Rs, Mrs. Sevier is either coaching the sophomore volleyball team at Mountain View High School in Meridian or watching professional baseball–especially the St. Louis Cardinals–with her husband.

When asked about her favorite book or author, she responded, “I’ll Love You Forever by Rober Munsch.”
