Now Accepting Enrollment in STEM Club Session #2
Session #2 will be held February 7 – May 9, 2018
Students in 3rd, 4th, & 5th Grades are invited to participate.
In a world that’s becoming increasingly complex, where success is driven not only by what you know, but by what you can do with what you know, it’s more important than ever for our youth to be equipped with the knowledge and skills to solve tough problems, gather and evaluate evidence, and make sense of information. These are the types of skills that students learn by studying science, technology, engineering, and math – subjects collectively known as STEM. (quoted from https://www.ed.gov/stem)
Mrs. Lopez, Rolling Hill’s own Computer and World Studies teacher, will be facilitating this afterschool club and looks forward to igniting student interest and passion for Science Technology Engineering and Math.
RHPCS STEM Club Session #2 will be held on Wednesdays, February 7 – May 9, 2018. There will be no club on 3/28 during Spring Break. Club will be held from 2:40 – 3:30 p.m. At the end of school day, STEM Club participants will gather at the gate into Optimist Park to come into the building together with Mrs. Lopez. Sending your child with a non-messy, healthy, simple snack is encouraged. Please be prompt in picking up students at 3:30 p.m., they will be at the front of the building to await rides.
There is no charge for students to participate in STEM Club, however in order to best plan for space and equipment needed, we require that students be pre-registered to participate. We anticipate a high demand for participation in this club. Don’t wait to sign up! Enrollment will be handled on a first-come, first served basis. If interest exceeds reasonable available space for participants, we will create a waiting list to draw from if openings become available. Students who participated in STEM Club Session #1 this year must re-apply for session #2 and will be accommodated as availability allows.
If your child is interested in participating, please complete the STEM Session #2 enrollment form and return it to the school office as soon as possible.
