Last Friday afternoon when our 3rd grade students went to gather all of the donations from other classrooms, there was excitement in the air! We couldn’t believe the response from the school! We then spent the next hour counting donations for each classroom.
And the WINNER of the collection contest IS…… Kindergarten with a total of 306 cans! 1st runner up was 5th grade with 262 cans!!
All classrooms made a huge effort, so thank you! I know that you feel the same as me when I say that our school is unique, and these service opportunities grant students the opportunity to broaden their horizons, expand the map of their thinking.
I know that the 3rd grade class is thrilled to be able to help this neighbor school with students that live just miles away. As a total school, we collected over 1,000 food items to contribute to the need at our service learning project…
KIDS HELPING KIDS!
Thanks to you all for your support in getting the word out and encouraging involvement!
