Dr. Montgomery has been the principal at Rolling Hills since the 2009 school year. He’s been an education administrator for the last 24 years, having worked in the Nampa and Boise school districts and a brief stint at Hidden Springs Charter School. Before that, Dr. Montgomery was an elementary school teacher in Melba for six years. It’s safe to say that Mr. Montgomery has been an educator his entire career.

Dr. Montgomery attended Northwest Nazarene University. He earned a Master’s degree from the College of Idaho and a Ph.D. from University of Idaho. He holds Idaho certifications for teaching and administration.

In 1994, Dr. Montgomery earned the Idaho Gem Award for Educational Excellence.

Looking back, his most satisfying experience as an educator has been his relationships with students.  Looking ahead, his goal is to help Rolling Hills Public Charter School be sustainable for many years to come.

He and his wife Colene are long-time residents of Nampa. They have two sons Aaron and Jason. Aaron is married and lives in Eugene, Oregon.  He attends the University of Oregon.  Jason will be heading off to graduate school in the 2011-2012 school year.

When Dr. Montgomery relaxes, he enjoys exercising, hunting, fishing, aquariums, and being with his family.   At one time, the Montgomery’s raised English Bulldogs.

His favorite book is To Kill a Mockingbird and his favorite author is Billy Graham.
