Rolling Hills Public Charter School
School Lunch Program

Rolling Hills is partnering with the Idaho Child Nutrition Program and the National School Lunch Program to provide healthy meals for our students.

School Lunch Calendar: Click here (Lunch_Menu_February_2012) for a printable copy of the partial January 2012 school lunch calendar, a viewable chart is shown below.

About Lunch Service:

Students can utilize the lunch program daily or when desired.  Counts for school lunch will be taken in the classroom each morning to determine quantities prepared.   If your student will be utilizing RHPCS’ lunch and/or milk service, you will need to prepay for their lunch/milk by sending a check and lunch account payment form (hard copy available at the school office) in with your child, or by bringing payment in to the front office.  Payments for siblings can be written on one check, but the division of funds for each students account needs to be indicated on the lunch account payment form.  Your child(ren)’s lunch account balance will be monitored through the new computer system (LUMEN).  Once the LUMEN parent portal is launched (watch for date and details to come) lunch account balance will be viewable online.

Free & Reduced Lunch Applications:  If you have not already done so, be sure to look at the application for Free or Reduced lunch to determine if you may be eligible for according to the 2011-2012 income level chart.  If you are eligible according the chart, please complete and return a Free or Reduced Lunch Application as soon as possible. Click here for the free/reduced lunch application form.  Hard copies are available at the school office.  If your financial circumstances change, applications can also be submitted at any time during the school year.

Special meals and/or accommodations: If your child has a disability, a medical condition, and/or food intolerance, click here for the Idaho State Department of Education Child Nutrition Program “Medical Statement to Request Special Meals and/or Accommodations”.  Hard copy of this application is also available at the school office.  Please note that this application requires a signature from a licensed physician, physician’s assistant, registered dietician or registered nurse.  The application includes detailed directions and a sample for your reference.

Here are a few clarifications:
For those qualify for free lunch , with the opening of the kitchen, we have now switched to the “free lunch” program and can no longer provide “free milk.”  Your child’s account will be charged $.40 every day that they purchase “milk only.”  However, they can receive a milk along with a “free lunch” at no charge.

For those buying “full priced” or “reduced” lunch.  Payments can be made to your child’s lunch account through the front office.  Please include a payment form so that Teri will know how much to put on each child’s account. Children need to use their cards every time they purchase either a lunch or a milk.  The correct amount will be deducted from their account.

Parents & adults may purchase lunches.  Adult lunches may be purchased for $3.50.  Please call ahead if you are planning to eat with your child as we will need to be sure to prepare enough food.

Lunch prices will be as follows:

Lunch:  $2.50
Reduced Lunch:  $.40
Milk Only: $.40

Lunches will include milk, but for those who would like to continue ordering milk only, the milk price will remain $.40.
