Who Can Apply?
Rolling Hills Public Charter School is public school under the state of Idaho and is tuition-free.  RHPCS is open to all students, regardless of the public school district boundaries of your residence.  There are no admission tests or requirements.  Prospective students will be given the opportunity to enroll regardless of race, color, national or ethnic origin, religion, sex, familial status, social or economic status. English Language learners and students who qualify for Gifted & Talented Programs or require Special Education Services are encouraged to apply. Rolling Hills will serve the needs of all students, as any other public school.

RHPCS Admissions Procedures – The Enrollment Lottery Process
Each year Rolling Hills has a limited number of openings available for new students.  The RHPCS Enrollment Lottery is conducted annually as a fair and equitable process to determine selection for students to fill these  openings.  Once enrolled, students do not have to reapply in the lottery process to continue enrollment at RHPCS.

To participate in the RHPCS enrollment lottery for the 2012-2013 school year, complete the current lottery application and submit it with required documents by the lottery application deadline.  Note:  RHPCS enrollment lottery applications do not rollover from year to year; a new application must be submitted each year for your child/children to be eligible for the current lottery drawing.

During the lottery process, RHPCS has four admission priority pools, as follows:

a.   Children of founding families (those families that participated in the founding of RHPCS), not to exceed 10% of the school’s enrollment.

b.   Siblings of currently enrolled RHPCS students.

c.   Applicants living within the Primary Attendance Area. RHPCS’ PAA is defined as residences in the Eagle/Boise/Garden City area that within the following geographic boundaries: East of Eagle Rd., West of Glenwood or Gary, South of Beacon Light,     North of Chinden.

d.   Applicants from outside the Primary Attendance Area (residences outside the area described above).

Details of the lottery drawing process are dictated by the Idaho Administrative Code IDAPA 08.02.04 section 203, click here for a printable copy of this information.  To summarize, on the lottery drawing date, February 11, 2012, applicant names will be drawn randomly from the lottery pool and placed on a list in the order drawn.  Applicants that are from founding families, siblings of enrolled students, and who live in the primary area of attendance are then moved to priority positions on the list.  Available positions are filled from the finalized list.  Any applicants that cannot be immediately offered placement will be placed on a waiting list.  You will be notified of the lottery results by email within 5 days after the lottery drawing.  If you have not received your lottery results email by February 16, 2012, please contact the school office at (208) 939-5400.

If placement becomes available during the school year, the opening will be filled from waiting list.  The position will be offered to the parents of the first student on the waiting list.  If declined, the position will be offered to the next child on the waiting list, and so on until the position is filled.

RHPCS Enrollment:

If your child is selected to attend RHPCS (selected through the lottery process or later offered a position from your child’s waiting list status), you will be contact via email and/or phone call.  You must respond within 48 hours to accept enrollment or the offer may be rescinded and the position offered to the next child in line.  When you accept placement for your child at RHPCS, you must finalize the enrollment within 4 business days by submitting completed enrollment forms along with copies of your child’s birth certificate and immunization records showing that all Idaho school immunization requirements have been.  It may also be necessary to later complete additional enrollment related and parental authorization forms just prior to the start of the 2012-2013 school year.
